Independent publisher Red Button Publishing has announced it will cease operations from June 2016.
Founded by Caroline Goldsmith and Karen Ings in 2012, Red Button has published five titles by four authors in both digital and paperback in that time.
In a statement, the pair said: “Unfortunately we no longer have the time and resources to commit to growing and developing the list.”
All rights will be reverted to their authors, who include Paul Blaney, freelance journalist and writer in residence at Rutgers University, New Jersey, and musician Christopher Russell, who publishes a young adult novel Songs About A Girl with Hodder Children’s this Summer.
Ings and Goldsmith formed the company in 2012 having met 15 years before through Aurum Press, where Ings was a commissioning editor. Both worked in various publishing roles until they decided to create Red Button, at first publishing digitally and in paperback as of 2015.
The company also offered consultancy services for self-publishers, including e-book formatting, cover artwork design, marketing material and advice on social media.
Ings and Goldsmith added: "We'd like to thank everyone who has supported our venture and our writers over the last four years. Your encouragement and enthusiasm has been invaluable. We remain passionate advocates of great books and we hope to continue to support and enable great writing through our ongoing freelance publishing services."
