Random ups Barnes reprint after Booker win
01.01.70 | Graeme Neill
Random House is now reprinting 125,000 copies of Jonathan Cape's Booker-winning The Sense of An Ending, signing off a further 50,000 copies in addition to the initial 75,000 copy reprint.
Vintage sales director Tom Drake-Lee said: "The demand for copies of the book is massive. Booksellers are reporting a huge amount of interest and are increasing their orders with us."
He added: "The Man Booker Prize carries weight all over the world and demand for The Sense of An Ending internationally is also outstripping what had been predicted. It is tremendously exciting. The book is the perfect self purchase as well as being the perfect gift."
The title, by Julian Barnes, scopped the £50,000 prize last night, with Random House c.e.o. Gail Rebuck welcoming it as a "joyous occasion".
