Emlyn Rees is stepping down as commissioning editor of Exhibit A, the crime imprint of Angry Robot.
Rees will return to writing full time and is also setting up a new crime festival, the Dark & Stormy Crime Festival, which is to cover books, film and theatre and will launch in 2014 alongside the Brighton Festival in May.
Byron Quertermous is taking over at Exhibit A, working remotely from his home in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in the US.
Rees' last novel, Hunted, was released by Constable & Robinson's Corsair imprint in 2012, with a further novel, Wanted, scheduled for 2014. Rees also wrote We're Going on a Bar Hunt (C&R) with his wife, Josie Lloyd, a parody of Michael Rosen's We're Going on a Bear Hunt, released in October.
Quertermous is a freelance editor who also writes crime and mystery fiction, and was nominated for the CWA Debut Dagger in 2003.
