One of the biggest-selling hardback books in the UK has topped the Kindle chart, selling for just 20p. It is also selling for 20p on the Sony Reader store.
Faber’s latest QI book, 1,227 QI Facts to Blow Your Socks Off by John Lloyd and John Mitchinson was released on 30th October, and was placed in 13th place on last week's Nielsen BookScan hardback non-fiction chart, selling 7,679 copies at an recommended retail price of £9.99, and an average selling price of £7.56.
The Kindle version has spent six days in the top 100 paid-for titles on Amazon’s Kindle store, and has now jumped to number one, sitting above Hilary Boyd’s Thursdays in the Park (Quercus) which has spent 57 days in the chart, also selling at 20p.
The 20p promotion on selected titles has been running since July, with Amazon price-matching an offer initially run on the Sony e-reader store.
Six 20p titles are currently in the Kindle top 10, including books from Faber, Quercus and Pan Macmillan.
