Puffin Rock to become multi-platform brand
13.11.12 | Charlotte Williams
Penguin Children's is partnering with animation studio Cartoon Saloon and children's media company Dog Ears to produce property Puffin Rock as a multi-platform brand.
Plans include an animated TV series, comprising 39 x 7-minute episodes, digital and physical format books, and apps. Puffin Rock follows the adventures of a family of puffins, focusing on puffling Oona and her brother Baba as they explore the sea, land and sky around their home, meeting other sea and land creatures, including a mermaid.
New business and IP acquisitions director for Penguin Children's, Eric Huang, said: "At Penguin Children's we have been publishing Puffins for over 70 years. This is a project close to all our hearts.
"Puffin Rock has captured our imaginations with its playful storytelling and loveable characters. We are very excited to be working with Cartoon Saloon and Dog Ears to develop their puffins into a multi-platform brand."
