Profile partners with AudioGO for audiobook releases
01.08.12 | Charlotte Williams
Indies Profile Books and AudioGO have launched a joint publishing arrangement to release audiobooks alongside selected forthcoming titles.
The audiobooks will be published simultaneously with the physical and e-editions and will be marketed jointly. They will be available as CDs as well as digital downloads.
The first titles to be released as audiobooks through the partnership this autumn are Simon Garfield's On the Map, Simon Jenkins' A Short History of England, Gavin Esler's Lessons from the Top, and Jonathan Dimbleby's Destiny in the Desert, as well as fiction title The Cutting Season by Attica Locke.
Profile m.d. Andrew Franklin said: "Like us, AudioGo is a dynamic independent, and we're looking forward to working with another company who shares our approach to doing business. Along with all publishers we are looking to publish our authors in as many ways as we can. Audiobooks, particularly in digital format, are a growth area."
AudioGO publishing director Jan Paterson added: "The audio market continues to grow, driven by the switch to digital, which means a transformation in convenience."
