Plexus to rush-release Whitney biog
20.02.12 | Katie Allen
Plexus is to rush-release a biography of singer Whitney Houston on 8th March in the UK, following its German publication last year.
The title, Whitney Houston, is written by Mark Bego and will be published as a paperback original r.r.p. £9.99, with a 50,000 copy print run. An e-book edition will follow.
Plexus bought UK and Commonwealth rights from agent Scott Mendel in New York. Hannibal published the German edition.
Director Sandra Wakes said: "Waking up to news of Whitney's tragic death, I never even realised the book existed . . . One glimpse at [Bego's] findings and I knew I had to make his agent Scott Mendell an offer. By Wednesday morning, we’d struck a deal!"
Whitney Houston traces the singer's "spectacular rise and fall in full" according to the publisher. Houston died on 11th February.
