Pickering heads to silver screen
19.09.12 | Katie Allen
Two novels by author Paul Pickering are to be adapted for cinema.
The Leopard's Wife, published by Simon & Schuster, has been bought by Claire Evans of Dearheart Productions. The novel, a love story set in the Congo, will be filmed on location and directed by John Irwin, director of the BBC's version of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.
Swiss producer Saskia Vischer also acquired rights to Afghanistan-set Over the Rainbow, also published by S&S. Anup Singh will direct.
Pickering will script both films. He said: "This is more exciting and scarier than both Congo and Afghanistan. It’s all rather lovely."
