Picador signs Kermode
17.07.12 | Charlotte Williams
Picador has acquired two books from film and cultural critic, Mark Kermode, with the author moving from Century.
Publisher Paul Baggaley bought UK and Commonwealth rights for two books from Hedda Archbold at Hidden Flack.
The first book, Hatchet Job, will be published in autumn 2013, with the author describing it as "an angry love letter to the lost legacy of passionate film criticism". The second book will be released in 2015, and will "investigate the uneasy but nonetheless money-spinning relationship between popular music and film".
Baggaley said: "I look forward to working with Mark to bring his writing to even greater numbers of readers. Mark represents everything that Picador looks for in its non-fiction writing: a distinctive and original voice, a provocative and challenging viewpoint and a writer who readers trust."
