Piatkus has acquired two debut UK authors, with their works to be published on their digital-first Entice list.
Maid of Oaklands Manor by Terri Nixon and Sweet Proposal by Celia Anderson were the winning entries in a competition to win a publishing contract, run by Piatkus in conjunction with the Festival of Romance. Senior fiction editor Donna Condon acquired world rights in both titles, with both authors now represented by Kate Nash.
Nixon's title will be published in July 2013, with Sweet Proposal to follow in August 2013.
Condon said: "The aim of the competition was to find fresh, new voices in UK romantic fiction to launch on our Piatkus Entice list, which is going from strength to strength, and we were incredibly impressed with the quality of the entries. Ultimately Terri Nixon and Celia Anderson were the two voices that shone through, and we couldn't be happier to welcome these two talented authors to Piatkus."
