Phaidon Global has hired former HarperCollins US publisher Judith Regan to head a new division at the company called Regan Arts.
The division will include a publishing imprint, but also be a "multimedia venture", with Regan acting as c.e.o.
Regan said she was looking forward to working with what she called "one of the world's finest publishers". She said: "Their love of great artists, authors, stories and design is an inspiration to all."
Leon and Debra Black, owners of Phaidon Global, which also owns Phaidon Press, said in a statement: "We are confident the great energy, enthusiasm, and skill Judith brings to this new collaboration will yield a powerful influence on the industry."
Regan was previously head of a ReganBooks imprint at HarperCollins in the US, where she published several commercial titles, but was fired from her role in 2006.
