Penguin Group launched its global licensing and consumer products division at the 2012 International Licensing Expo in Las Vegas yesterday [11th June].
The publisher hosted a Penguin Licensing and Consumer Products booth at the Expo, featuring its brands from the UK, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, including Spot, Land of Me, Hairy Maclary and Vintage Ladybird.
The booth was showcasing existing partnerships, as well as giving a "heavy push", according to a Penguin statement, "to recruit new partnerships for licensed merchandise in the toys, games, apparel, stationery, social expression, and housewares categories".
In the UK, Penguin Children's Books created a licensing wing, its media and entertainment group, in February 2011, headed by publishing director Eric Huang. The group combined the BBC Children's, Sunbird and Ladybird licensing teams.
