Penguin buys new Dave Eggers
22.06.12 | Charlotte Williams
Penguin has acquired the first novel in six years from US author Dave Eggers.
Hamish Hamilton publishing director Simon Prosser bought world English rights excluding the US from Andrew Wylie at the Wylie Agency.
It will publish A Hologram for the King in hardback in February 2013. The story focuses on 54-year-old Alan Cay, who finds himself in debt and pinning everything on signing a technology contract with a Saudi king.
Prosser said: “Though timeless in the telling, this brilliant new novel couldn’t be more of the moment.”
