Penguin bags Brownlee brothers
01.01.70 | Lisa Campbell
Penguin has acquired a title by the Olympic and World Champion Triathlon stars, brothers Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee.
Viking editorial director Joel Rickett bought world rights from Professional Sports Group in Swim, Bike, Run to be published in June 2013 as a hardback and e-book, at the start of the Triathlon season.
The book is billed as "the definitive Triathlon book, blending their life stories with insights into training, psychology and performance".
The Brownlees won Gold and Bronze medals at London 2012, the first time two British brothers had won medals in individual competition at an Olympics since 1900. This weekend Jonny, who won Bronze in London, was crowned Triathlon world champion in New Zealand. Alistair won the same title in 2011.
Rickett said: "In a summer full of legends and inspiration, the Brownlee brothers stood out. Their winning race was simply breathtaking. Their story is all about shared lives, training and performance, pushing each other to fresh heights. They share a total dedication to the sport and a wonderfully down-to-earth, positive attitude."
