Paramount buys L,B's Diviners

Libby Bray's forthcoming young adult novel The Diviners is to head to the silver screen after Paramount made a pre-emptive purchase in a seven-figure deal.

The novel is set in the 1920s and follows a group of young people with mysterious powers, when a series of occult-based murders threaten the city.

The author will adapt the script and be executive producer, Deadline reports, with a possible franchise on the cards.

The Diviners will be published on 18th September by Little, Brown in the UK and in the US. It is the first in a four-part series.
