Pan Macmillan has created an online community for young adult fiction readers, launching interactive online platform MyKindaBook.com.
The site aims to bring together authors, readers and books, with a spotlight on a different novel each month. For October, the feature book is Dark Flame, the fourth book in the Immortals series by Alyson Noel. Visitors to the site can access exclusive content including extracts, trailers and author chats.
Emma Hopkin, m.d. of Macmillan Children's Books, said: "With MyKindaBook.com we are able to establish a long-term dialogue between our readers, our authors and ourselves."
Sara Lloyd, digital director of Pan Macmillan, said: "We're really excited about the launch. We hope it's a fun place for teen readers to engage with our authors, our books and with each other."
Content exclusive to the site will also include bonus scenes, podcasts, webchats and competitions, with titles such as Infinite Days by Rebecca Maizel and new books from Meg Cabot and Jacyln Moriarty lined up to feature online.
Pan Macmillan aims to recruit 20 MyKindaBook (MKB) VIPS in October, to act as ambassadors for the site and Pan Macmillan authors. Members signed up to community will receive regular newsletters and be able to contribute to the site.
MyKindaBook.com was designed and developed by digital agency Chameleon Net.
