Pan Macmillan has signed two novels by debut crime writer Clare Donoghue.
Editorial director Trisha Jackson bought world rights from Hellie Ogden at Greene & Heaton. The first title The Watcher will be published in mass market March 2014.
The series is set in south London and features DI Mike Lockyer and DS Jane Bennett. The Watcher follows the hunt for a serial killer preying on young women.
Jackson said: "Clare has a remarkable talent for storytelling, and The Watcher is an extremely gripping and accomplished debut.
