Pan Macmillan has acquired three books by previously self-published author, and founder and editor of women's fiction review site Novelicious.com, Kirsty Greenwood.
In her first deal since joining Pan Macmillan this month, senior commissioning editor Caroline Hogg acquired world English language rights in three titles from Hannah Ferguson at the Marsh Agency.
The first book, women's fiction title Yours Truly, will be published in paperback and e-book formats at the end of 2013, with two titles in a new series to follow.
As a self-published title, Yours Truly has sold nearly 100,000 e-books, according to the publisher, reaching the Kindle top ten and receiving more than 600 Amazon reader reviews.
Hogg said: "I’ve wanted to sign Kirsty for a very long time, so it’s beyond brilliant to bring her into such a dedicated and creative publishing team as Pan Macmillan. Kirsty has a true passion for women’s fiction—her Novelicious site has championed so many new writers—and she worked tirelessly on publishing her first novel.
"Now it’s the perfect time for her to focus on her completely funny, fresh and frank writing, while we at Pan Macmillan do the work to take her success to the next level."
