Palgrave Macmillan is to launch its own e-book platform for libraries in January. Palgrave Connect will offer access to 4,000 e-books, organised by discipline and year of publication, and the list will be updated quarterly.
The platform has been developed in association with sister company Nature Publishing Group (NPG) and is powered by its online platform nature.com, alongside Palgrave Macmillan's journals.
Palgrave said the the choice of NPG as partner meant that librarians could control their institution's subscriptions to journal and ebook products from both publishers via one administration system and with a single point of contact for customer service.
Alison Jones, director of digital development at Palgrave Macmillan, said: "Access to books online is rapidly becoming as important for academics and professionals as traditional print models."
