Nelson Thornes resources will be sold through the Oxford University Press website and distribution centre from later this month.
OUP acquired Nelson Thornes in January 2013, and it has since operated as a standalone subsidiary.
On 14th February, the Nelson Thornes business and its employees will transfer to OUP, and its titles will be sold and distributed alongside Oxford resources in what marks a key milestone for the integration.
The Nelson Thornes website will be closed from 11th February, and customers will be able to make orders by telephone from that point. From 17th February all customer enquiries, orders, and returns should be directed to OUP and will be fulfilled by its UK Distribution Centre in Kettering.
Nelson Thornes’ wide range of home learning, primary, secondary, vocational and international resources, as well as its digital resources, such as Kerboodle and Bond Online, will be available alongside titles in the Oxford range.
Kate Harris, managing director of Oxford Education at Oxford University Press, said: “Nelson Thornes has developed some high quality resources and innovative digital products over the years, which perfectly complement Oxford’s own resources. Our combined lists will provide teachers and students with the widest range of support.”
It is understood that the final stage of job losses arising out of the integration of Nelson Thornes into OUP will also be concluded later this month. Last year a total of 43 members of staff were made redundant across two phases.
