Orion snaps up Robert Wilson
18.04.12 | Katie Allen
Orion has snapped up two novels from CWA Gold Dagger-winning author Robert Wilson.
Deputy c.e.o. and publisher of OPG Malcolm Edwards acquired UK and Commonwealth rights (excluding Canada) from Anthony Sheil at Aitken Alexander.
The first title, Capital Punishment, opens a new crime series featuring Charles Boxer, ex-army, ex-police with a speciality in kidnap and rescue. He is hired to find Alyshia D’Cruz, the kidnapped daughter of an Indian billionaire. The title is lined up for January 2013.
Wilson said: "After 20 years I've written myself back home to a new London setting and a very different, challenging hero which I know Orion will help me develop into a unique series."
Edwards said: "I’ve enjoyed and admired Robert Wilson’s writing since I acquired his first novel in 1994. I’m delighted he has decided to join Orion, and I’m confident that Capital Punishment will prove to be his most successful novel yet."
Wilson is the author of numerous titles published by HarperCollins. His Seville-set Javier Falcon series is currently being filmed by Sky Atlantic.
