Orion has acquired world rights to a "searingly honest and compelling" autobiography of top jockey Ruby Walsh, for publication later this year.
The deal, for an undisclosed sum, was struck between Orion's Susan Lamb and Alan Samson with Jonathan Harris at Luxton Harris. It will be published in hardback on 21st October.
Lamb said: "I have been tracking Ruby Walsh since his 2000 Grand National win. He is above all a universally-respected and much-loved sports personality, and in his fascinating and revealing autobiography he candidly reflects on his amazing career and on being part of the Walsh dynasty."
Walsh said "I am delighted to be working with Orion for my autobiography and I hope it will be an enjoyable read for those who buy it."
Born in County Kildare in May 1979, Walsh is the son of the former amateur champion jockey Ted Walsh, and came to prominence in 2000 by winning the English Grand National on his first attempt, at the age of 20. Since then he is the only jockey to have won all four home Grand Nationals, and has ridden more than 1,600 winners to date.
