Orion nets Guardiola biog
10.02.12 | Charlotte Williams
Orion will publish the biography of FC Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola.
Non-fiction publisher Alan Samson acquired world rights to the biography, written by football pundit Guillem Balague, signing the deal with David Luxton of David Luxton Associates, with plans to publish in hardback and e-book on 20th September.
Guardiola became the first-team manager at Barcelona in 2008, becoming the youngest-ever manager to win the Champions League. In January 2012, he won the FIFA World Coach of the Year for Men's Football award.
The book aims to tell how he became so successful, taking in his playing career as well as tales from the role in the dug-out.
Samson said: "We are delighted to be publishing Guillem again. He is one of the key analysts of Spanish football, which has become part of the British football diet. Pep Guardiola's Barcelona is a major reason for that, and Guillem is the ideal person to write his biography."
