Digital publisher Open Road is launching a new imprint, Iconic E-books, with Erica Jong's Fear of Flying and Alice Walker's The Color Purple to be among its first titles.
The Iconic E-Books titles will be those that have "universal name recognition whether as memoir, popular fiction, literary fiction, or non-fiction".
Fear of Flying was released worldwide today (18th October) and is priced £9.19 on Amazon.co.uk. Open Road has rebranded and added other books from its existing catalogue to Iconic E-Books. These are Mr Popper's Penguins by Richard and Florence Atwater; The Prince of Tides by Pat Conroy; Julie of the Wolves by Jean Craighead George; Chaos: Making a New Science by James Gleick; From Here to Eternity by James Jones; The Moviegoer by Walker Percy; Sophie's Choice by William Styron; Candy by Terry Southern; Exodus by Leon Uris; and The Color Purple by Alice Walker.
Open Road co-founder and c.e.o. Jane Friedman said: "A core mission of Open Road is to bring many of the most influential and acclaimed books to 'e' to connect them once again with readers."
Fear of Flying is published in paperback by Vintage in the UK.
