Oneworld buys Madoff biography
06.06.11 | Graeme Neill
Oneworld has bought UK and Commonwealth rights to a biography of disgraced Ponzi pyramid scheme financier Bernie Madoff.
Senior commissioning editor Robin Dennis bought rights to Bernie Madoff, The Wizard of Lies by Dian B Henriques through Devon Mazzone at Times Books/ Henry Holt. The book will be published as a paperback original in August 2011. Madoff is serving 150 years in prison for his role in defrauding thousands of investors through a Ponzi scheme.
Henriques is a New York Times senior writer, Pulitzer Prize finalist and wrote extensively on Madoff for the newspaper. Dennis said: "There's a reason Bernie Madoff gave Diana his first and most extensive interview from prison. She's an incredibly astute investigative journalist, and her writing has triggered a number of legal reforms. This book is the definitive insider account and a great business thriller, full of jaw-dropping, audacious stories, but ultimately a very human story."
