Pushkin Press imprint One has signed debut novel Whispers Through a Megaphone by Rachel Elliott.
Editor Elena Lappin pre-empted world English rights in the book, in a deal with Gaia Banks at Sheil Land.
The book tells the story of Miriam Delaney, who cannot speak above a whisper, and Ralph, whose wife is blogging about every aspect of their unhappy marriage.
Whispers Through a Megaphone will be published in autumn 2015 as a lead title for the imprint, backed by what the publisher calls "a substantial publicity and marketing campaign."
