Nuala Casey for Quercus
01.01.70 | Katie Allen
Quercus has acquired two books by author Nuala Casey, with the first, Soho, 4AM, billed as a psychological suspense novel.
Paperback publisher Jo Dickinson bought UK and Commonwealth rights from Madeleine Milburn at the Madeleine Milburn Literary Agency in the two titles.
Soho, 4AM bridges two real events: the announcement in Trafalgar Square of London's successful bid to stage the 2012 Olympic Games, and the terrorist bombing on the Underground when, overnight, the mood of the city changes from one of euphoria to one of horror. The story follows four people who are "haunted by the detritus of unfulfilled dreams".
The Quercus editorial team described it as "a fantastic novel that does seem to bridge crime, a love story and characterful solipsistic narration".
