Nosy Crow launches first games app
15.08.12 | Katie Allen
Nosy Crow has launched its first free game app, The Grunts: Beard of Bees, based on the upcoming children's book series by Philip Ardagh and Axel Scheffler.
The free app is available on the App Store for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch and features original illustration by Scheffler, voice narration by Ardagh and an original score by composer Robin Beanland.
“It’s been great fun working on our first app for older children," Nosy Crow m.d. Kate Wilson said. "The book is for children of 7+ and that means that we wanted to explore a different kind of gameplay, with, for example, scoring. It’s fantastic to be able to use the app-building talents of the team to support a new publication and lead children to the book . . . It’s a brilliantly engaging game in its own right.”
The game challenges players to build the biggest beard of bees possible for Mr Grunt before time runs out.
The first Mr Grunt title, The Grunts in Trouble, will be published in September.
