New Generation Publishing, the venture set up by YouWriteOn.com and Legend Press to enable unpublished authors the chance to get their works into print, will offer a "traditional" publishing contract to the bestselling title from the next 300 submissions.
NGP, which is now solely run by Legend Press, currently works on a print on demand basis, with distribution feeds, which enable books to be sold through retailers such as Amazon.
The title to have sold the most copies by 30th June 2010 will be offered a contract with Legend's imprint Paperbooks.
Tom Chalmers, managing director of Legend Press, said: "We dream of offering multi-layered services to benefit authors and to bring publishing into step with the current consumer and reading world. And at Paperbooks we want a heavyweight publishing house that’s passionate about championing and promoting new writers.
“Therefore this new offer is a perfect fit for all and another unique opportunity for aspiring writers.”
NGP was launched last autumn, with the guarantee that up to 5,000 who submitted work prior to 1st October would be in print before Christmas. However, the publisher then revised this down to a more "managable" 1,000.
At the time, Chalmers said the project had largely been a success, with books generating a handful of reviews in the national press and one title selling more than 1,000 copies.
