Tonight's edition of the BBC2 current affairs programme "Newsnight" will feature the "ongoing fight by local communities to save their libraries, focusing on the campaign for London's Kensal Green library.
The piece will include an interview with writer Alan Bennett, who will be doing a fundraiser for the campaign this evening. The author and playwright will give a speech on library closures at St Martin's Church in Kensal Green, read from his works, sign books and take part in a question and answer session with local author Tim Lott.
Campaigners in Brent are also asking members of the public to donate £5 apiece to fund the legal action over the council's library closures.
