News Corp 'could split'
26.06.12 | Bookseller Staff
News Corp is considering a division into two companies, splitting its publishing assets—including HarperCollins—from its entertainment businesses, according to a report in the News Corp-owned Wall Street Journal.
Such a separation would create a film and TV business division, to include the 20th Century Fox film studio and Fox News, and a much smaller publishing division, to include HarperCollins and newspapers the Times and the Wall Street Journal.
The report claims that such a split would be welcomed by outside investors who "are more interested in News Corp's television and film assets than its slow-growing publishing businesses".
