New story from King for Hachette

Hachette companies Orion and Hodder & Stoughton are jointly publishing a new story by bestselling authors Stephen King and his son, Joe Hill.

Originally an Esquire magazine exclusive, the story, "In the Tall Grass", will be released as an audio download and e-book original on 9th October. The e-book will be £1.99 and the audiobook £9.99. The e-book will also include an exclusive extract of Hill's forthcoming NOS4R2 and of King's next novel, Doctor Sleep.

The publishers said: "In the Tall Grass begins with a sister and brother who pull off to the side of the road after hearing a young boy crying for help from beyond the tall grass. Within minutes they are disorientated, in deeper that seems possible, and they've lost one another, while the boy's cries are growing more and more desperate."

Joint editors, Philippa Pride at Hodder and Gillian Redfearn at Orion, said: "'In the Tall Grass' is a brilliant, scary and suspenseful short story from two great writing talents. We are delighted in turn to combine the creative expertise of two great publishing houses to promote this terrific collaboration."
