New site to rate agents
03.05.12 | Lisa Campbell
A new social community website will help to connect authors and agents when it launches on 1st July.
LitFactor, which is currently in beta form, will allow authors to rate and review the agents they apply to and in turn, agents will be able to alert authors to changes in their submissions wish list.
A spokeswoman for the free website said she hopes the project will “mean an end to inappropriate applications” and instead hopes to “encourage creative collaboration between agents and authors".
“The role that literary agents play is crucial,” she said. “We want to simplify the submissions process for them too, making it much easier to find that bestseller-in-waiting."
The website has an “agent of the week” campaign on its homepage, a search engine to find agents and asks visitors “does your agent have the LitFactor?”.
