Vintage imprint Harvill Secker has revealed Ruth Ware's new psychological thriller will be named The Lying Game and is set to be published on 15th June 2017.
The book's plot begins at a boarding school in Salten, where Isa and her three friends used to play the Lying Game, competing to convince people of the most outrageous stories. Some 17 years later, their teenage games come back to haunt them when a deadly secret the girls hoped would remain buried on the local marshes comes to light.
The book follows Ware's debut psychological thriller In a Dark, Dark Wood, set to be turned into film starring Reese Witherspoon. Ware's second thriller The Woman in Cabin 10, was published last summer. The Lying Game is the first in a book deal for two further novels from Ware slated for publishing in 2017 and 2018.
Jade Chandler, editorial director for crime fiction at Harvill Secker, said: "We are incredibly proud to be publishing Ruth Ware’s third novel. The Lying Game is a breathtakingly brilliant thriller with a twisting mystery at its heart. Full of suspense and evocative gothic atmosphere, The Lying Game showcases all the talent that has made Ruth Ware an international bestseller."
