Little, Brown’s Tamsin Kitson and Susan de Soissons will move to new roles in the company’s publicity department from 1st January.
Kitson [pictured] will become group publicity director, responsible for heading the publicity department. She will continue to handle major campaigns, and will report in to Robert Manser, group sales, marketing and publicity director.
De Soissons will take on the newly created role of director, author and media relations. In the role, she will continue to work with her existing authors as well as adding a strategic overview of author care to her portfolio.
She will also report in to Manser, and will work closely with group publisher David Shelley.
Little, Brown c.e.o. Ursula Mackenzie said she was "thrilled" by both promotions.
“Author care is at the centre of my vision for Little, Brown, and our publicity department has never been more vital in helping to provide our authors with the best possible publishing experience," she said. “Publicity is one of the departments that we have grown in the last few years in order to give authors more of their publicists’ time—and these promotions will enable both Susan and Tamsin to work with the publicity and editorial teams to provide the best possible author care.”
Manser said: “Tamsin and Susan have both made a huge contribution to Little, Brown, and I am so pleased to be able to recognise that with these key promotions.
“In her new position, Susan will be able to offer her authors a level of focus that is second to none, and she will also work strategically with the whole publishing team on author care and development.
“And I know Tamsin has the talent and vision to lead our award-winning publicity department and ensure that it remains at the top of its game.”
Shelley said: “I couldn’t be more pleased for Susan and Tamsin. They are among the best in the business and these promotions recognise that fact.
“I will also look forward to working closely with Tamsin and her department and Susan in her new role and helping to make sure that as the publishing industry changes, Little, Brown remains firmly committed to its authors’ needs, keeping these at the heart of everything we do.”
