New pirate adventures for Orion
24.01.13 | Charlotte Williams
Orion Children's Books has acquired a new adventure series, The Pirate Stream, for readers aged 9-12, from author Carrie Ryan and John Parke Davis.
Editorial director Amber Caraveo bought UK and Commonwealth rights in the series from Angharad Kowal at Writers House UK on behalf of Merrilee Heifetz at Writers House US. The first book in the series, The Map to Everywhere, follows two children who accidentally end up as stowaways on a pirate ship that travels between worlds, searching for a map that can lead them to anything.
It will be published in autumn 2014 in the UK, with Little, Brown to publish in the US, with deals signed in Germany, Italy, Israel and France so far.
Caraveo said: "I'm thrilled to have acquired The Pirate Stream which is fantasy adventure at its very best. Packed with action, great characters and truly marvellous world-building, Carrie and JP have created a fast-paced, exciting series that readers will love."
