Paul Burston's 'The Black Path' to Accent

The Black Path by author, journalist and Polari Salon founder Paul Burston, has been signed by Accent Press for an "undisclosed sum."

Rights were acquired by Rebecca Lloyd, senior editor at Accent Press, from Sophie Hicks of the Sophie Hicks Agency.

Lloyd said: “We’re thrilled to have signed Paul’s new book, which takes his writing into new and darker realms. With vivid characters and an unflinching eye for the seedy recesses of modern society, The Black Path is a novel about the nightmares of the past that can come back to haunt you.”

Burston is chair of the Polari Prize and the author of novels including Shameless (Abacus), Lovers and Losers (Sphere) and Star People (Sphere).

The Black Path will be published by Accent in September 2016.
