Hodder & Stoughton is to publish a compilation of scripts from comedian Miranda Hart in October, but Peggy and Me, the book about day-to-day life with her dog Peggy acquired last year, will not now be published until 2015.
Publisher Hannah Black acquired world rights to The Best of Miranda from Gordon Wise of Curtis Brown. The Best of Miranda will contain the full scripts of Hart’s six favourite episodes from her television series "Miranda", along with original revisions and annotations. Hart will also give her own account of what goes into the process of writing, rehearsing and filming the show, include gossip from the set and unpublished photos.
There will also be childhood photos of Hart, a step-by-step guide to making Fruit Friends and Vegetapals, which feature in the programme, and a "Marry Gary Board Game".
Black said: “At Hodder we know that Miranda is as brilliantly funny in person as she is on-screen. That’s partly why this book is so thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable; we get to see both the real Miranda, looking behind the scenes of the show, and we get a closer look at Miranda the character. It’s an irresistible combination.”
The Best of Miranda will be published in hardback and e-book on 23rd October.
Peggy and Me, a follow-up to Hart's hugely successful debut Is It Just Me? was acquired last year for publication this autumn but has now been rescheduled for next year.
