Nadifa Mohamed to S&S

Nadifa Mohamed, author of Black Mamba Boy, has moved from HarperCollins to Simon & Schuster for her second novel, set in 1980s Somalia.

Clare Hey, S&S senior commissioning editor, signed UK and Commonwealth rights to the novel and one more via Ben Mason of Fox Mason Ltd. Mason also placed US rights with FSG.

Hey said: "I was hugely proud to publish Black Mamba Boy at HarperCollins and am delighted that Nadifa and I will be working together again. Her second novel is truly stunning, and marks her out as a writer of huge talent and a with big future."

Mason said: "I'm over the moon to see Nadifa Mohamed and Clare Hey reunited over such a fiery, beautiful and poised novel."

S&S will publish in hardback/
e-book in July 2013, with a paperback release the following summer.
