Mumsnet Children's Book Club expands
11.06.12 | Lisa Campbell
Mumsnet's Children's Book Club is to expand to two books each month, rather than one, following a successful launch in May.
The influential website set up the club to help mothers encourage their children to read. Publishers provide 50 copies of the book for the website to give away in a prize draw and are charged a £1,000 fee.
June's title is HarperCollins' The Hobbit by J R R Tolkien, followed by Bloomsbury's Florentine and Pig Have a Very Lovely Picnic by Eva Katzler, illustrated by Jess Mikhail, in July. From September, the promotion will increase to include a book aimed at a younger child aged around five to six, as well an older child.
Rachel Foster, associate editor of Mumsnet, said the club would focus on frontlist titles.
