Simon & Schuster has inked Child 44 author Tom Rob Smith for an additional two novels.
UK Adult Publishing m.d. Suzanne Baboneau bought UK and Commonwealth rights through Felicity Blunt at Curtis Brown.
Published in 2008, Child 44 has sold over 2 million copies worldwide, with the bestselling The Secret Speech and Agent 6 completing his Russian trilogy. A film version of Child 44, starring Tom Hardy will be released in 2014, as will Rob Smith’s new novel, The Farm.
Baboneau said: "Tom’s career is going from strength to strength, he is breaking new ground with every novel, and we are immensely proud to be the UK publishers of this richly talented young author."
Tom Rob Smith added that the creative relationship he has formed with Baboneau is among "the most important in my life." He said: "I'm not sure my new novel, The Farm, would have survived without her help and guidance."
The two books are due after 2015.
