MItchell Beazley acquires street food 'star'
17.10.12 | Charlotte Williams
Octopus company Mitchell Beazley has acquired The Bowler's Meatball Cookbook by Jez Felwick, described as a "rising star of the street food scene".
Octopus publisher Alison Starling bought world rights in the book direct from the author, and will publish as a £16.99 hardback in February 2013.
Starling said: "Jez pitched the idea to me just before Christmas last year and I loved it immediately. Meatballs are a delicious on-trend comfort food and the book is an exciting way to take the street food phenomenon into your kitchen. I was also aware that meatball cookbooks were selling well in the US and it felt like a cupcake-style trend heading our way."
Food photography in the book is shot by Cristian Barnett, who shot The Hairy Bikers' Perfect Pies. The cover will be finished with a tactile blackboard-effect varnish.
