Michael O'Mara to release Shades spoof
03.07.12 | Charlotte Williams
Michael O'Mara is the latest publisher to move in on the Fifty Shades of Grey phenomenon, acquiring a title which parodies both E L James' current erotic bestseller, and Jane Austen's classic novel Pride and Prejudice.
Senior editorial director Louise Dixon acquired world rights directly from the author, writing under the nom de plume William Codpiece Thwackery, in the title, Fifty Shades of Mr Darcy.
The title will be published in September as a £7.99 paperback, with Fifty Shades' hero Christian Grey's Red Room of Pain swapped for Mr Darcy's Blue Broom-Cupboard of Seriously Kinky Shit.
