Madhur Jaffrey cookbook to Ebury

Ebury Press has acquired a new cookbook from Madhur Jaffrey, with the title also to be featuring as a 10-part series made by Cactus TV for the Good Food Channel.

Publishing director Carey Smith acquired world rights all languages in the title, Madhur Jaffrey's Curry Nation, through Deborah Rogers at Rogers, Coleridge & White, with plans to publish as a £20 hardback in October 2012.

The book will feature 100 recipes and photographs, taking in a journey around Britain to feature dishes with origins in every part of India.

Jaffrey said: "In Birmingham we find the Punjabi influence with chicken tikka masala and chickpeas. Leicester has its Gujaratis from Uganda enjoying cassava chips with tamarind sauce . . . I will cook many of the dishes that I see around me. We will cover India by covering Britain."

Smith said: "Curry is Britain's favourite dish and Madhur is Britain's favourite Indian cook. Together they add up to the perfect recipe for a Christmas bestseller."
