MacLehose signs 'cinematic' Joël Dicker

Quercus imprint the MacLehose Press has UK rights to The Truth About the Harry Quebert Case by Swiss-French author Joël Dicker.

The novel, which was one of the hot books of the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2012, has been sold for translation in 30 countries, while selling 700,000 copies in its native French.

It is a story of murder and literary scandal set in New Hampshire, described as a “literary crime novel” with “vast cinematic appeal”. It was shortlisted for the Prix Goncourt Prize and the Prix Femina, and won 2012’s Grand Prix du Roman de l’Academie Francaise.

MacLehose Press acquired rights from Éditions de Fallois in Paris, and will also be handling US rights.
