Lonely Planet has appointed its global marketing director Dominic Rowell as its new managing director of digital.
He will report to c.e.o. Matt Goldberg, who said: "We are fortunate to have such a versatile and talented executive in Dominic, who will lead Lonely Planet’s digital business into its next phase translating our amazing guides and developing new products and services across every platform travellers find useful."
Rowell joined the travel publisher in 2008, having had previous positions at Sainsbury's, Pepsi, Carphone Warehouse and McDonalds. He said: "We are making progress across all aspects of our digital business and I’m looking forward to building on the foundations we now have in place to deepen our connection with travellers via online services, wireless devices and through our growing community of followers."
