Little Tiger Press, Puffin and Simon & Schuster lead the nominations for this year's Red House Children's Book Award, the only national award for children's books voted entirely by children themselves.
This year's shortlist pits previous winners Michael Morpurgo, Rick Riordan and Sophie McKenzie against the likes of newcomer Holly Clifton-Brown, TimeRiders creator Alex Scarrow and the critically acclaimed Andy Mulligan.
Children¹s votes will decide the category winners and these and the author of the best children's book published in 2010 will be announced at an Award Presentation Ceremony in Birmingham on 11th June 2011.
