Little, Brown Book Group has promoted two of its senior editors, with Emma Beswetherick becoming editorial director for Piatkus fiction and Rebecca Saunders moving to the role of editorial director for Sphere commercial women's fiction.
Beswetherick will report to Little, Brown publisher David Shelley, and Saunders will report to Sphere associate publisher Daniel Mallory.
Beswetherick currently publishes authors including bestselling writer Rosamund Lupton. She said: "I am delighted the promotion allows me to buy one major new title each year for the Piatkus superlead slot. I am looking for sophisticated and emotional women's fiction with a literary bent."
Saunders publishes Nicholas Sparks and acquired authors including Fiona Walker, Lucy-Anne Holmes and Mink Elliott. She said: "I am thrilled. It has been a terrific three years spent consolidating the women's fiction programme and we have a hugely exciting list of authors that I look forward to growing."
Shelley said: "Emma and Rebecca are fantastic colleagues and brilliant editors who have contributed much to growing the profiles of the Piatkus and Sphere lists."
