Agent Christopher Little has reached "an amicable agreement" with author J K Rowling, who ended her longstanding relationship with the Christopher Little Literary Agency LLP suddenly in June last year.
A statement issued by Little's spokesperson said: "J K Rowling and her former agent, Christopher Little, have reached an amicable agreement concluding their longstanding business relationship, the terms of which remain confidential. No further comments will be issued by either party."
The Sunday Telegraph had previously reported that Little was considering legal action over the split, which happened as Rowling joined Little's former business partner Neil Blair to launch website Pottermore.
At the time, a statement from Little's spokesperson said he was "disappointed and surprised" by the development, having "worked closely with J K Rowling since the very beginning 16 years ago." A statement from Rowling's camp said: "This was a painful decision, especially as Ms Rowling had actively sought a different outcome for some weeks. However, it was not taken without good reason and it finally became unavoidable. There won’t be any further comment.”
