Ladybird Books is to publish a series of pre-school children's books in collaboration with singer and TV star Peter Andre.
Publishing director Eric Huang, who bought world English language rights, excluding North America, through Can Associates, said: "We're looking forward to our collaboration with Peter Andre and Can Associates. Peter has such a passion for being a dad, and mums and dads everywhere will be able to relate to the experiences and stories he's told us for these books."
The series will launch in September with two titles, featuring young siblings Peter, Mike and Debbie. A Happy Birthday Party and A New Day at School will be priced £4.99 each, with two further titles to follow. The books come from Andre’s ideas, but are being ghost-written by freelance writer and journalist Sarah Fabiny.
Andre is a singer-songwriter, most famous for hit "Mysterious Girl", and appeared on "I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!" alongside Katie Price, aka Jordan. The pair then married and had two children, but subsequently divorced.
Andre said: "I'm really excited to be launching a series of children's books with Ladybird. Stories play a really important part in my family's life and I'm delighted to be working with Ladybird to create new story books for kids to share with their mums and dads, brothers, sisters and friends."
Andre today launched a children's literacy project in London with mayor Boris Johnson.
